Elephants and Bees Project

The Elephants and Bees project with Save the Elephants uses beehive fences to deter crop raiding elephants. The beehive fence surrounds farmers crops to mitigate human elephant conflict - something which is a massive issue for communities based near national parks who grow palatable crops that elephants will eat. Below are photos from my experience of working with the project which included beehive fence monitoring.

The project doesn't only focus on beehive fences. Within the organisation there are numerous programs such as; providing family planning and dialogue days for men, women and children, farm club, school lessons for the local primary school and elephant tracking and monitoring.
